Steve Lawrie was born and raised in Grahamstown, South Africa, and lives in Akron, Ohio with his wife Angel who was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. They were married in August 2008 in Denver, Colorado - pictures from their wedding are here. Steve and Angel are steeldrum players who play gigs for just about any occasion, under the banner "Stealin Hearts". To find out more, click here. Steve is internationally known for his Steeldrum Tuning skills. He is regarded as one of the top steelpan tuners to be found anywhere, and has 25 years experience tuning these instruments. Steve and Angel also like to fly radio control planes together, and Steve is part owner of a small company that makes mostly profile WWII radio control kits, under the name "RabidModels.com".
